Wingfoot Commercial Tire Opens 33rd Wingfoot Truck Care Center

FORT SMITH, Ark., July 19, 2010 — Wingfoot Commercial Tire has opened a new truck maintenance center in Midland, Texas.

The new center is located at 10213 West County Road 127 on Interstate 20, exit 126, and Farm to Market Road (FM) 1788. It will provide trucking fleets with new tires, retreads, light mechanical service, preventive maintenance and roadside assistance.

Interstate 20 runs concurrently with the La Entrada al Pacifico Corridor, a major trade corridor between Texas and Mexico.

“Following the opening of the nearby Nadine and Tom Craddick Highway in late 2009, the I-20 and FM 1788 junction will play an increasingly important role in the movement of freight and truck traffic through West Texas,” said Clint Schrock, director of on-highway operations. “Locating our new center here will bring our fleet maintenance services closer to where they’re needed.”

“In addition, the Midland center is another big step in our effort to help lower trucking fleets’ tire and maintenance operating costs with important tire- and maintenance-tracking tools available in more locations throughout the United States,” Schrock said.

Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, has more than 140 commercial tire sales, service and retread facilities nationwide. With the addition of the new truck care center in Midland, Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems now has 33 on-highway Truck Care Centers nationwide.

Besides offering new tires, the centers provide retreads, tire management tools and business solutions for tomorrow’s trucking fleets. Visit the Wingfoot Truck Care Centers web site for more information.
