Check out this 1921 American LaFrance fire truck

Gorgeous. A 1921 American LaFrance fire truck—all original—profiled on Jay Leno's Garage. Owner Gary Wales was asked about the truck's modern presence and detail:

"When they went into the little towns and burghs, they cost on average $10,000, $11,000, $12,000. ... It was a major expenditure. This was the pride of their little town."

The engine is a 14-liter, 900-cubic-inch T-head engine. Each piston is the size of a 2-pound coffee can. When you're driving, Wales says, you spend a lot of time waving at people.
