And 71% of online adults are now Facebook users, says Pew Research Center, up from 67% in late 2012. A slight bump in usage was the story elsewhere: LinkedIn usage went from 20% to 22%; Pinterest from 15% to 21%; Twitter from 16% to 18%; and Instagram from 13% to 17%.
Facebook boasts the highest levels of daily usage: 63% of Facebook users visit the site daily, with 40% logging on multiple times a day. And 57% of Instagram users check in daily, compared to 46% of Twitter user, 23% of Pinterest users, and just 13% of LinkedIn users.
Pew affirmed what every dad already knows: "Twitter and Instagram have particular appeal to younger adults ... and there is substantial overlap between Twitter and Instagram user bases."
